Vangela Churchill came to the Rio Grande Valley as a young girl. She grew up in Port Isabel, but lived most of her life in Sullivan City and La Joya, TX. Four of those years was spent in Monterrey, Mexico where she became fluent in Spanish. She has more than 25 years of experience in the educational field and is currently serving as a high school assistant principal.

Vangela has four children and three grandchildren and is the proud wife of a Texas State Trooper who also serves in the National Guard.
One of the first in her family to go to college and get a degree, Vangela started at South Texas College and transferred to University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where she got a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and then went on to get a Masters of Fine Arts from National University. She also earned her Masters of Education from St. Thomas University, and is just weeks away from getting her Bachelor of Business Management from Purdue Global.
