I was predicting that after the election that the weaponized, politicized Department of Justice would move another legal chess piece against Trump. And they did. Attorney General Merrick Garland named a special counsel to investigate the former president. His name is Jack Smith. He may have a rather ordinary name but he's anything but an ordinary prosecutor. He, like his department, is a weaponized prosecutor out to get Trump. Imagine that after almost two years of investigating the so-called insurrection, both the DOJ and Congress found nothing indictable against Trump. Do you think if Donald Trump wanted to hide some secret documents he'd store them in a locker at Mar-a-Lago? Well, when the DOJ found it had nothing in their sham case — claiming that Trump was trying to create a coup on Jan. 6 — they needed something else. So the best they could do was say the former president was holding on to classified documents. And they found nothing there, too. So why Jack Smith? Because he prolongs the case, stirs stuff up . . . and can do so for the next two years while Trump is running for president. More bad press for Trump. That helps Joe. Joe Biden really fears Trump.
